Ana Luísa Valdeira da Silva

Ana Luísa Valdeira da Silva Vieira (b. 1980 – Lisbon) is graduated in Performing Arts by the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. Currently is frequenting a Master of English and American Studies, specialization in Interarts Studies and is a researcher at the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies (ULICES). In 2008 studied in Universiteit van Amsterdam – Erasmus Programme. In 2001 she had finished the Violin Course in the class of Professor José Machado. In 2005 won the competition Young Creators promoted by CPAI with Tufos de Bolor/Bunches of Moist (co-creation with Manuel Durão), and represented Portugal in the III Biennale of Young Creators of CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries) in Mozambique. Was member of the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil/Youth Symphony Orchestra and member and co-founder of Nova Orquestra de Lisboa/New Orchestra of Lisbon. Has been playing in Portugal, Spain, France, Sweden and Mozambique, being directed by the conductors Henrique Piloto, Pedro Pinto Figueiredo, Christopher Bochmann, Jean-Sébastien Béreau, and Joana Carneiro. Has been creating transdisciplinary performances, working on video, poetry, theatre and musical improvisation.
